Hylocereus undatus cacti, grown from Vietnamese white variety seed. H. undatus, also known as strawberry pear or white-fleshed dragon fruit or pitaya, is a vining cactus which produces very large white fleshed fruit. The fruit of H. megalanthus are sought around the world as a super food for its pleasing texture, nutrition, large size and a pleasingly mild taste. Plants are semi self-fertile. Flowers are nocturnal, producing a scent reminiscent of vanilla and roasted peanuts.
We sell three sizes of plant. You will receive a plant similar to those pictured above. Plant sizes are selected by price (Large, Medium, Small). Most plants have multiple (3 to 7) branches. For ones with multiple branches, specifically, feel free to message us and we will gladly accommodate.
Large White-Fleshed Dragon Fruit (Hylocereus undatus)
Plants may appear wrinkled upon arrival, this is normal, plants are just dehydrated due to shipping and will "plump up" in time. All plants are greenhouse grown and are pest free, however due to this plants must be eased into direct sunlight over several days, otherwise plants will sunburn. Use well draining soil. Plants cannot sit in water, but prefer regular watering once every 9 days. Plants are not cold hardy and must be brought indoors should temperature drop below 32°F (0°C). Between December and March plants ship insulated in packing paper and a mylar heat blanket to pretect against extremes.
